THE HOUSE CLOSED, NO GUESTS IN AND OUT, NO BREAKFAST TO SERVE, NO LAST MINUTE SHOPPING FOR A LAST MINUTE BOOKING!
The owners Peter and Maria Mills, semi-retired, but still attending to their business in Travel & Leisure Group and the family property investment company TRI Ltd. Both from their Head Office in Sudbury, Suffolk, were left with very little to do with themselves once both companies had to temporarily close and furlough staff.
Without the Bed & Breakfast life was all of a sudden definitely very different!
They had forgotten, running such busy lives, how beautiful and bucolic Mill House river pond and the water meadows are. Once thing is for certain… one can never get bored at Mill House B&B!
Over the last 3 or so months, we were blessed with lovely weather most of the time and at this very special location we found a new enjoyment in life. To rest, cook, eat and drink, read and sun bathe. Above all, washing and cleaning to keep the virus a bay!
Masses and masses of daily washing and cleaning took place at Mill House over the last few months, the place is certainly well sterilised and we continue to do so on a daily basis.
Even the dogs paws and fur are sprayed!
But soon we will be open again and hopefully life will return to some normality. Somehow we know it will never be the same. We will pay more attention to prevention and will enjoy our holidays in the UK more, even if the beer and coffee are much more expensive than in the continent and we do not burn under 40 degrees sunshine!
